Final race details and maps will be posted on the website this week. Competitor lists as of 1200hrs Sunday 17/7/11 (Alphabetical and Gender/Age) are on the event page – see Event Schedule above – these will be updated next week. At this stage we are planning to have 4 waves starting at 1200hrs at 5 minutes intervals with the citizen’s wave starting last at 1215hrs.The current sea temperature is 17.7 degrees but this has varied over the last couple of weeks from 16.6 to 19 and will be dependent on the weather. Whilst the swim is in the river it will be predominantly sea as opposed to fresh water. Based on current temperatures wetsuits are likely to be optional. The race entry fee of £20 includes a race t-shirt, free image downloads courtesy of www.sussexsportphotography.com, a free gourmet burger from our hosts at The Boat House, Glaceau Vitamin Water, Clif Bar and trophies for BTF age groups and the citizen’s wave winners from our event sponsor (L Guess Jewellers). BLOC Eyewear will provide the category winners with sunglasses.
If you’re planning on staying for the weekend Littlehampton has plenty of accommodation options. Alternatively the historic town of Arundel is a great location with the Castle, walks, bars and cafés and only 10-15min drive away. There are good rail links both at Arundel and Littlehampton – the race venue is a 10 minutes walk from Littlehampton Station.
