James Gilfillan returns to Steyning Duathlon

James Gilfillan has confirmed he’ll be returning to defend the title he won here last year.  Entry for the event is almost full, but there are a few spaces left for the event which is part of the National Ranking Series and a qualifier for the European Championships in Nancy, France.  Race details for this year’s race can be seen on the main event page.  The start time is now confirmed as 9am for the first wave and 9:30am for the second – athletes will be informed this week what wave they are running in.  Registration will take place between 07:00-08:30am at Steyning Leisure Centre.  The historic walking races, children’s events and aquathlon which take place on the same day have unfortunately been cancelled this year.  We’re hoping, together with Steyning AC, to reinstate some sort of race or fun event for the community in 2011.  However, the town is likely to be just as busy as always with café’s, bars and shops open for this years event.
