Steyning Duathlon

THE EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED FOR 2012.
The Steyning Duathlon has been running since 2001 and has regularly been part of the BTF Ranking Series and an ETU Qualifier.
Originally organised to support Steynings historic 15 mile walking race, the duathlon has now become the main event for the ‘Festival of Sport’ which also includes various races for children including an Aquathlon. The race is located in Steyning town centre which is between Brighton & Worthing in West Sussex, at the foot of the South Downs National Park. The race distances for the event are 7km Run, 36km Bike, 5km Run.
Over the last 6 years the event has attracted most of the UK’s top duathletes. The course is relatively unique in that the run is a 1km lap on a closed road circuit around the historic market town. The rolling bike course will be on the A283 and A24 which are regularly used for local & national time trials. An early start means most of the local cafés and pubs are open which creates a big race atmosphere with local spectators.
