Worthing Standard & Relay Triathlon 2005 Results (PDF) The Worthing Triathlon is now in its fifth year and is part of the British Triathlon National Ranking Series 2008. The race is located near the Yacht Club at Goring Beach, Worthing, which is between Brighton & Chichester in West Sussex. The event will take place on Sunday 10th August 2008. This is one of only a few mass starts in the UK and whilst we can’t quite emulate the famous Nice Triathlon, we do have the shingle beach! The sea quality has been excellent over the last three years, although the tide strength can affect swim times. This is a standard distance triathlon with a 1.5km Sea Swim, 43km undulating bike and 10km promenade run, with the option of a Relay Triathlon for novices or those injured. The bike course could be described as undulating. No significant hills but a long drag out of the town to the turn round before a fast return leg. The run is dead flat on the promenade including a 2km lapped section. The race HQ is on a large expanse of grass adjacent to the beach which is regularly used by Kite Surfers, this is where the Catering Marquees and Trade Stands will be situated. The entry fee this year is £45 BTF and £49 Non BTF; the relay race is £60 per team. This is what some competitors said about the event last year. Courtesy of Tri Talk Forum:- “I did this race the first
time it was run a couple of years back and loved it, will definitely
do it again.” |
