| Bluebell Trail Run |
25th April 2008
ENTRIES ON THE DAY ARE BEING ACCEPTED FOR SUNDAY'S RUN AT £16. There are currently over 400 runners listed for the run and an updated competitor list can be seen on the events page. All numbers were posted last weekend so there is no need to register. Runners who entered this week will be able to collect their numbers from registration. Showers are forecast so please bear this in mind. The start is 800m away from the car park so please leave plenty of time to get there and seed yourself accordingly when lining up as the start is quite narrow. The course is still in good condition but there are some muddy patches; a general purpose running or trail shoe will be fine. Please read the race details on the events page prior to arriving. |

| BLOC Steyning Triathlon and Bluebell Trail Run |
20th April 2008
Updated results for the Steyning Long, Sprint and Aquathlon results have been amended and are on the relevant event page; apologies for the delay. In the next few days we will be announcing further news on the event for those who were unable to complete the triathlon.
The Bluebell competitor list has been added to the Bluebell event page. This was correct as of 10am Saturday 19th April 2008 and will be updated over the next few days. Race numbers and event details were posted this weekend, so athletes should receive them by Monday or Tuesday. Please remember postal entries need to be with us by Thursday 24th April. Entries on the day will be accepted but these will be at £16. The course & bluebells are looking great although there are a few muddy patches due to the recent rain. This is a trail run and whilst the majority of the course is dry and firm there are a few muddy patches so a general purpose running shoe or trail shoe would be a good choice. Fitstuff running store from Guildford will be at the event together with Dinckyccino mobile coffee van. Further course
and weather updates will be posted here this week; we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Finally our own Nigel Burnett completed his umpteenth Ironman last week at a very inhospitable Arizona. Blustery and scorching conditions took their toll as 300 athletes were unable to finish; Nigel recorded his worst ever time (just over 13hrs) which means he'll be looking for another IM event in 2009! Great performance though. |

| Pearce top 50 at Ironman South Africa |

Gary who'd never previously raced beyond Olympic distance triathlon spent the winter training with A2's Simon & Nick Finch. Simon was 20th overall in an impressive 9:20:06, whilst Nick suffered on the run after a fast swim to bike to come home in 11:12:44. |

| Steyning Tri and Bluebell Trial Run |
13th April 2008
We're still waiting for updates for the last weeks sprint and aquathlon results. We've checked all our paper lap sheets and emailed them to RTS to confirm with their chip timing system. Apologies for the delay, we believe RTS are timing the National Duathlon Champs today so as soon as we have any update we'll let you know.
Updated Bluebell 10km race details and maps have been added to the events page. These will be posted to all competitors this week, together with race numbers. A competitor list will be added on Wednesday. We are still taking entries for the run; please remember there is additional fee for entering on the day. Postal entries MUST arrive with us here by Thursday 24th April 2008. |

| Steyning Iceman Triathlon |
7th April 2008
Here are the provisional results for the Sprint Tri and Aquathlon. There are still a couple of timing errors which we'll try and sort out due to the stop/start nature of the day and re-scheduling. There are some great shots of the event as the day unfolded on www.antbliss.com. Thanks to Anthony and his team of two and a half for managing to click away under the circumstances. Interesting to see some of the choice of clothing on the bike! Once we've caught up with things, we'll have a think about some options for those of you who did the aquathlon. Thanks for your support. |

| BLOC Steyning Alpine Triathlon |
6th April 2008
Well that was interesting! Hopefully you've all thawed out by now; it was quite a sight to see so many bodies shivering in the medic centre! The biggest thanks goes to all the marshals who endured some atrocious conditions for over 4 hours, particularly the Pegasus Venture Scouts on the run course who were also exposed at the worst time. We had no option but to cancel the bike course half way through the Sprint race and we appreciate how much training most of you had put in for the event. Don't worry; next year we'll revert to our mid to late April slot (due to other commitments we were unable to hold it at this time this year). Congratulations to James Dear from Mid Sussex Tri Club and Lauren Davies from Oxford Tri for taking the Long titles. Provisional results for the Long race can be seen here or on the events page. Race Timing Systems have done another great job and have almost completed the Sprint and unscheduled Aquathlon results; we'll post them here once we've checked a couple of things. Finally, thanks to everyone who raced, the Leisure Centre staff who were brilliant in dealing with everyone and BLOC Sunglasses for sponsoring our races. |

| Steyning Triathlon Start List |
3rd April 2008
A final start list for Sunday's race can be seen on the events page. The weather forecast for Sunday does not look good; the predicted temperature for the race is currently indicating 1-5 degrees and a chance of rain or snow! Bearing in mind you'll be running from a warm pool and the substantial wind chill on the bike, please dress appropriately; it's your responsibility. If light conditions are poor due to heavy cloud cover, we may delay the start by 15mins. The early starters will be able to register just before 6am and given priority to set up in the transition. We hope your training's been going okay and look forward to seeing you all on Sunday. If you have queries please contact us via email. |

| Steyning Duathlon Provisional Results |
25th March 2008 2200hrs
We apologise for the delay in posting the results. This is a provisional set of results that we have adapted ourselves, as soon as we have the proper set including BTF categories from Race Timing Systems we’ll also post them here. If you have any queries please contact www.racetimingsystems.com or alternatively email us and we’ll pass them on. Thanks once again to everyone who endured some atrocious conditions yesterday at Steyning. The forecast predicted a chilly but bright day (8 miles away in Brighton that’s what they had!) The second wave certainly got the worst of the weather. Special thanks to all our loyal marshals including CERT and REAC most of whom had turned blue by the end of the day. The event was supported by our sponsors Chandlers BMW Brighton, GWCA Solicitors, BLOC, South Downs Bikes, Fitstuff, Tri Sport Coaching, The Tri Store, Saucony and Orca. There was some great racing with Lee Piercy taking the men’s title closely followed by Matt Moorhouse and David Vaughan. Similarly, Emma Dews held onto the title she won last year despite being pushed hard by Vickie Wilkinson and Loretta Sollars. Finally thanks for being sensible on a tight and busy course especially around Washington on the A24. The timing of the event has been set to coincide with other events as part of the ‘Festival of Sport’. This may be reviewed in view of the fact Steyning AC’s historic 15 mile walking race was cancelled this year for the first time in 100 years. Lastly there are some great shots of the event on http://www.philoconnor.com/steyning/front.htm |
