| Monday 29th June 2009 |
| The International Birdman was created in 1971 in nearby Selsey when aviators were given the challenge of flying 50 yards by launching themselves off the Lifeboat Pier. The event has now moved to Worthing and as part of that event for the first time this year there will be a 1km and 2km sea swim prior to the main event. Sunday 23rd August is the day at 12 - that's a week after the Worthing Triathlon! Full details will be posted here later this week. |

| River Arun Results |
Saturday 6th June 2009
Thanks to everyone today, particularly the Littlehampton Harbour Masters team (Will and Colin) for actively encouraging use of the river and promoting all our events. Thanks also to our team of safety kayaks and the Pilot Boat for making sure no swimmers were washed out to sea and the RNLI for allowing us to use their Station. There was very positive feedback from all involved in the event so hopefully this will secure the event for next year. Provisional results for today’s race can be seen on the events page. Please let us know if you have any queries. Congratulations to Nick Finch (A2 Tri) and Teresa Dray (Esporta Brighton) for winning the event – 46.35 and 48.50 respectively, very impressive. No doubt everyone set a PB for the Ironman swim! The two signed pictures from World Ironman Champion Chrissie Wellington were deservedly awarded to Gina Quest and Julie Gallagher – well done. Finally there will be some great photos of the event from www.sussexsportphotography.com either tomorrow or Monday – look out for the You Tube coverage of the start! |

| Mizuno Arundel Tri Final List |
Thursday 28th May 2009
The final start list can now be seen on the events page together with a new transition plan and layout. The weather forecast for the weekend looks good with 20 degrees and fairly light winds. Just a reminder there are NO tumble turns permitted - the pool temperature was 28 degrees on Monday. You'll also need to be marked on poolside with your race number so please remember what it is. Cycle course: Please be aware there are some overhanging branches on the verge of the A27 - whilst this isn't part of the road as such some cyclists may consider riding there - hopefully the highways authority will have them trimmed. The finish area is different to previous years and there's only 100m to it once you cross the bridge on your return. In addition to Geared Bikes and Fitstuff, Countryside Catering will be at the event together with Clif Bar and post race massage. Finally the pool will be open to non competitors and families from 10am but you will need to pay at the kiosk. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday. |

| Ironman River Swim |
Thursday 28th May 2009
Race details for the river swim will be posted on the web this weekend. There are a few changes we need to make (not with the course) to ensure everything runs smoothly at the race start. Please remember your entry fee includes your coach trip to the start - athletes please do not take your cars to the start location as there is no room and this could put the race in jeopardy next year. |

Sunday 3rd May 2009
Congratulations to this year’s winners; our own Gary Pearce and Anne Hegvold in the Long race and Jason Bewley and Elite athlete Sam Herridge in the Sprint race. We hope you enjoyed the new format and location and will make further improvements next year. Results can be seen here for the Long and Sprint races and brief report has been sent to tri247.com. If you have any timing queries please email us and we’ll forward them to Race Timing Systems. Thanks to Geared Bikes from Chichester, Clif Bar, Countryside Catering, BLOC Eyewear and Glaceau Vitamin Water for their continued sponsorship in 2009. Team REP also made the podium in the sprint race with Niki Treacy and Trish Stewart taking 2nd and 3rd. Team REP's Supervet Tom Jackson, travelled to the New Forest Triathlon but it looks as if he suffered a bit in the swim but posted a good run time for 3rd in his category. |
