Happy New Year!

Bluebell Trail Run 10km & 10 mile2012 is set to be a great sporting year in the UK.  REP events are filling and we also have some exciting new events up our sleeve.  The first to be announced is the addition of a 10 mile trail run to be held on the same day as the Bluebell 10km Trail Run in Angmering – Sunday 22nd April 2012.  The 10 mile course will incorporate some of the original 10km course but include some stunning views towards the South Downs on private tracks within the Estate.  Details will be announced later this week.

REP Event Schedule 2012

British Aqua Champs hosts 2011Raw Energy Pursuits will be announcing some exciting new races over the next few months in addition to their 2012 race schedule. ONLINE ENTRY IS NOW OPEN.  Sunday 22nd April 2012 – Angmering Bluebell 10km Trail Run.  Sunday 6th May 2012 – Steyning Triathlon – Standard/Sprint/Relay.  Sunday 3rd June 2012 – Arundel Lido Triathlon – Standard/Sprint/Relay.  Saturday 23rd June 2012 – 3.8km River Arun Swim Littlehampton.  Sunday 12th August 2012 – Worthing Triathlon – Standard/Sprint/Relay.  Sunday 19th August 2012 – Worthing Birdman Swim – 1km/2km.  Sunday 30th September 2012 (TBC) – Firle Half Marathon Trail Run.

Results – Jacobs Steel Birdman Swim 2011

Birdman 1km Start 2011Provisional race results for the 1km & 2km swims can now be seen HERE.  It was great to see so many spectators supporting the event with some really fast times this year.  The stand out performances were GB pentathlete Gareth Evans who clocked 18:42 for the 2km race and top national swimmer 14 year old Chloe Pollard from Eastbourne, who finished second overall in 19:52.  In the 1km race Alec Patterson from Olney Multisport dominated the race to win in 10:17 as did Nicky Carsons in the women’s race.

Jacobs Steel Birdman Swim – Entries on the day

Birdman Calm 2010Online entry has now closed but we will be having entries on the day at £15 and £18.  Please make sure you leave plenty of time to park as the seafront is likely to be busy.  The races start at 1015 and registration is open from 0900hrs.  The latest forecast for Sunday looks reasonable with light winds, cloud, sun and 19-20 degrees –The sea temperature has dropped to 17.1 degrees but this is likely to be warmer inshore. Wetsuits look the preferred option but are not compulsory at the moment. READ MORE
